The simple answer is no. If used properly, false eyelashes won’t ruin your real eyelashes. They don’t disturb them at all when applied correctly. False lashes sit just above your natural lash line on your eyelid, not on your actual lashes.
Hold the lash up against your eyelid and trim them from the outside if necessary. Trimming our lashes from the outside will preserve the original lash style.
Using a tweezer, hold the lashes and dab on a thin line of glue to the lash band. Don’t apply too much as it can get messy. Just enough so it's evenly coated.
Wait 30 seconds before applying to the eye so it becomes tacky. Doing this will prevent the glue and lashes from sliding around when trying to apply them on your lash line.
Using tweezers or a lash applicator (or your fingers if that is easier for you), apply the lashes as close to the lash line as possible. Place it down starting at the centre of the eye and tuck the corners in. Looking down into a mirror when applying lashes will make it easier.
Go over the lash band with eyeliner to help conceal and blend it with your makeup. This will also cover up any glue residue that may be showing.

Some individuals may be sensitive to animal fur. Most trustworthy companies list the materials their lashes contain, so check the labels carefully. If you have any animal allergies, it is best to stick to lashes made of silk or synthetic materials. MODELROCK products are proudly Vegan & Cruelty-Free, so rest easy knowing that when you buy from us. Check out our range of Vegan & Cruelty-Free Lashes for your next purchase. We also offer Latex-Free Lash Adhesive for those sensitive to latex.
Always be gentle when removing your falsies. Rough removal can cause your natural lashes to pull out due to the glue getting caught. Tip: Peel them off gently with the help of makeup remover and a Cotton Swab.
Certain chemicals in the glues can harm the skin around a lash follicle and aggravate the skin around your eyes. Always to be sure to double check the ingredients to check for anything that you may be allergic to. Tip: Patch test new lash glue for a few days beforehand.
It is very important to keep your false lashes clean in between uses. Fake eyelashes can increase the risk of bacteria beneath your lash line as makeup, glues, germs, and oils can build up without good sanitization. Don’t sleep in your lashes as this will increase the risk further. Tip: Check out our How to Clean Your Lashes blog for instructions on how to do so.
Never share your lashes with others. We all harbour bacteria and what is harmless to someone can set off an extreme reaction in another. To avoid cross-contaminating yourself and others, keep your own set of lashes.
The bottom line is false lashes are safe. By applying these methods, this will prevent any damage to your natural lashes. You just need to pay attention to hygiene and possible allergies.
